About Me

My mother took a photo of me and my dog Schotzie when I was two. It warms my heart. That's what a photo should do, touch your heart, trigger a memory, tell a story.

I grew up in Montclair, New Jersey and spent summers in Maine at my family's cabin, where every evening my father would summon us to the porch to watch the mountains change colors from purple to deep magenta as the sun set, the scene silhouetted on the lake. The beauty of that place and my family helped to instill in me a love of nature and a true appreciation for my life.

I fell in love with photography early on, as my mother was always taking pictures. The smell of film, the winding and snapping of the shutter, looking through the lens my world slowed down and I would see things in a new light, more specific, just for that moment. In college I majored in media communications and during my internship in NYC, shooting still photos I found that I loved shooting throughout an entire day - photojournalism!  I truly love photographing real people at real moments in natural light and settings.

I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma with my husband and three children.

Artist Statement

I am inspired every day, either emotionally or mentally by a person, a fragrant smell, a sky that speaks, the way light plays on a field while I am passing in my car.  I hope you are inspired by these photographs and are encouraged to look at your own life through new eyes.
